I charge by the hour, so pianos that are well maintained, generally cost less to service. I charge a service call fee that is dependant upon the community in which you live. The farther I have to drive, the more I charge. Add to that, the time I spend working at $70.00/hr and you have my fee. Generally, pianos that are well maintained require 1-1 1/2 hours. That would mean $70-105.00 plus the service call fee. Service calls on pianos that I have not seen before often range between 1 1/2 and 3 hours. That's $105-210.00 plus the service call fee. Sometimes a piano may require more extensive repairs and cost more to get up and running. I will give you a verbal estimate after I size up the piano. If my terms are acceptable, I will proceed; if not, I will charge my minimum fee of $35.00 plus the service call fee.. The minimum charges will also apply for pianos that I deem not to be serviceable. If you wish only to have a formal printed estimate done, my fee is $35.00 plus the service call fee. Written appraisals cost $70.00 and up plus service call fee.
